A: Christchurch

A: Christchurch

Although we were originally asked to make a video for the rebuild of Christchurch, we argued that the most important task was to build an accurate 3D model of the existing environment - which could ultimately become a single source of truth model that would grow as projects came on line.

B: Justice Precinct

B: Justice Precinct

Our idea was that with this single source of truth model we could grow it as projects materialised, and the White Boxes became real designs. The Christchurch Justice Precinct was one of the first.

C: Living Cathedral

C: Living Cathedral

The Christchurch model continues to be updated, to the extent that we can also include new concepts and visualize them in a future Christchurch. This Cathedral concept was developed out of the UK by an ex-pat Kiwi we worked with.

D: LINZ Viewer

D: LINZ Viewer

LINZ issued a tender for an on line interactive viewing platform that would be used in the Christchurch rebuild planning. We won that tender with NextSpace in Auckland and delivered the platform, on time and on budget. It was never used because the initial step of ensuring there was accurate data to display in the engine was not taken.

E: Auckland

E: Auckland

This video shows how a 3D model of a city (Auckland, originally built for The Rugby World Cup 2011) can bring to life what were originally stills from a PowerPoint presentation, and give them more context and relevance.

F: A Larger Vision

F: A Larger Vision

Using that same model we were able to produce an Investor Video for ATEED that depicted a 30 year vision of Auckland. Having the model, and access to proposed developments from other developers, allowed us to include a number of projects that had, up until then, been shown as individual concepts. We were able to show them all within the context of a larger vision for Auckland.

G: Tauranga

G: Tauranga

The Tauranga model is built using aerial photogrammetry, allowing us to create a photorealistic model of key parts of the city. Since building the original we have been adding new projects to the model as they come on line.

H: Queenstown Concept

H: Queenstown Concept

Closer to home, this is a model we recently created for a Hotel concept in Queenstown using freely available data for the region.

I: WebGL Test

I: WebGL Test

The day after our first meeting in Dunedin with the team from NZTA, one of our developers went online and put together this WebGL map from freely available GIS data for Queenstown - this kind of map can be easily integrated with our inhouse tools to produce interactive web players and mobile apps.
