ARL's Sports Division, Virtual Eye, tracked the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012 over the nine months it took for the teams to get from Alicante, Spain in 2011 to Galway, Ireland in July 2012. This animation follows the global course over 39,000 nautical miles of the world's seas via Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Sanya, Auckland, Itajaí, Miami, Lisbon, and Lorient.
